I was born and raised in the State of California, having lived most of my life in the City of Yorba Linda. I graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1996, while juggling various political internships and working in the film industry to pay my way through college.
I moved to San Bernardino County in 1998, and have lived in the High Desert City of Hesperia proudly serving as a foster parent for over 12 years.
Proud to call the desert my home, I have worked extensively in education, and eventually served in the capacity as School Board Member in Hesperia from 2008-2012. The nation's recession was deeply felt by so many of us, and during my time on the school board, I fought to keep campus safety and jobs a priority. I am proud to say we balanced a budget without layoffs, and our community was better because of those tough decisions.
I worked for the County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors from 2004-2010; served on various non-profit committees to enhance children's issues throughout the County and State; and once again proudly served on the Hesperia Unified School Board from 2008-2012.
In my current capacity as Public Information Officer, I am proud to stand alongside our Public Safety (Fire & Police) Depts. as we look to make a difference in our community, while engaging our local and national media to provide transparent information to those we serve.
I have been working in my current position since 2012 and have enhanced the use of our local public access channel to provide our community with up to date information on various issues, worked alongside NASA and Goldstone to bring scientific exhibits to the historic Harvey House in Barstow, Ca.; and continue to remain active in our community efforts to increase college educational opportunities for underprivileged youth.
I would be honored to continue my time in public service as your next School Board Member for HUSD District 2.
