Primo is the oldest of four. After his mother died from cancer, he helped raise his younger sister and has guided his other siblings on their educational paths. Primo serves as the Government Relations Director for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network where he is charged with advocating for policies that aim to protect the quality of life of cancer patients and their families. Serving as a cancer research advocate has given Primo the ability to provide countless families the power to be a voice at the federal, state and local levels of government.
Primo obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University and a Masters in Public Administration from Cal State Long Beach. Primo and his wife Dr. Melba Castro live in La Habra Heights with their four girls and German Shepherd. Their 9 year old is at Macy Elementary, 6 year old is at Olita Elementary, and their 2 year old identical twin girls look forward to joining their sisters at Lowell Joint School District. Melba serves as the Dean of Student Success at Rio Hondo College. Primo and Melba have served as mentors to many youths in the community.
