Vote YES on Measure Y to preserve essential city services, maintain public safety, protect Santa Fe Springs quality of life, and secure economic stability for our city. Since 2012, the State has cut over $32 million annually in city funds, putting essential city services at risk. The city is currently facing a $5 million budget deficit that is expected to double in the next six years. The city has been responsible by: reforming employee pension plans, reducing the workforce, delaying $80 million in infrastructure maintenance, and cutting city services. There is simply no more room to cut and keep the services our community deserves. Last year 80% of more than 4,000 calls were for medical emergencies, when every second counts.
Santa Fe Springs needs Measure Y. It provides stable funding to maintain public safety services, repair streets, and allows continuation of community events.
Measure Y ensures out-of-town visitors pay for their share of police, fire, street repairs and other services when they are in our city.
Vote Yes on Y to;
Maintain 911 emergency response time
Protect police services, including neighborhood patrols and crime prevention programs that keep gangs and drugs out of our city
Preserve current firefighter and paramedic staffing
Continue after-school youth programs to keep kids safe
Protect senior programs and transit services
Repair local streets to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion
Measure Y is fiscally accountable and transparent with independent annual audits. All money stays local and cannot be taken by the State. Groceries and prescription medicine would be exempt from Measure Y.
Our robust city services keep us safe and community and property values strong. Please join us, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, seniors, education and local business leaders by voting YES on Measure Y.
