My Top 3 Priorities

  • Relegating more decision-making power to teachers and principals.
  • Using evidence-based decison making to carefully decide which programs to continue or adopt during the upcoming deficit years.
  • Mending the divide between district-run and charter schools so that all educators are partners to educate all students.

I am running for the school board because I want every student in the district to get a world-class, personalized education.

As a parent, I have a personal interest in making Chico Unified great. As an educator, improving results for students is my passion. As a Chico native, I want better schools to make a better community.

I hold a BA in Political Science from Chico State, and teaching credentials for both elementary and secondary education. I’ve taught students from pre-school to high school, in traditional and public charter schools.

Every school I’ve worked in has employed wonderful, hard-working faculty and staff. Let’s tap into that experience and passion, and share knowledge across all school, charter and traditional, to serve our students.

Together, we can make sure that:

* Parent needs and choices are heard and honored.

* CUSD uses evidence-based best practices.

* Teachers have freedom and funding to make choices that work for their students.

* Students have the support services they need to succeed.

* All public schools, charter or traditional, are equal partners in excellent teaching.

* Students spend more time learning and less time on standardized tests.

Thank you for your support. I look forward to serving our community.
