Biography

Mayor Perotte has been a long-time advocate for children. She was a Parent Partner Coordinator at the Community Action Commission of Santa Barbara County, helping parents of special needs children obtain services for their children. She has also been involved in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at the local, regional and state level for more than 15 years. Her committee work has included service on the Community Concerns Commission; the Special Needs Committee; the Safe Routes to School National and State Partnership; Strategic Highway Safety Plan Pedestrian safety focus group; and the Teenage Driver Committee.

In addition, Mayor Perotte served on Santa Barbara County’s KIDS Network from 2006-2009 and on the First 5 Advisory Board from 2004-2006. From 2000-2004 she worked with the Santa Barbara Area Safety Committee. She was instrumental in successfully advocating for the passage of state laws increasing fines in school zones, reducing speed limits, and extending the school zones.

Mayor Perotte has been an engaged resident of Goleta for 35 years where she and her husband, a Goleta native, raised their two, now-adult daughters.

Political Beliefs

I’m running for Goleta Mayor in November because I’m determined to keep Goleta on its upward path, while protecting our city’s special character for all of us. I’m committed to reducing traffic congestion, assuring reliable and affordable water supplies, improving public safety, and protecting our environment and views.

In the 35 years our family has lived and worked in Goleta, I’ve worked hard to make a difference – as a parent, businessperson in our family-owned high tech company, PTA President promoting statewide legislation for safe routes to schools, reduced speed limits in school zones, and improved quality of education. Before serving as Goleta City Council member and Mayor I advocated for special needs children through the Community Action Commission.

With your help, we’ll keep Goleta moving forward toward a sustainable future. I’d be honored to have your vote.
