I was born in Seattle, Washington to two amazing parents, Ray and Linda Espinoza, an auto mechanic and stay-at-home mom. We moved around a lot during my childhood, finally settling in Roseville when I was 13 years old, while my father was battling cancer at UC Davis Medical Center (ultimately losing his battle in March ’88).  I am a graduate of Oakmont High School and six months after graduation, I was hired as a bank teller at a small Thrift & Loan in Citrus Heights and worked my way up through the ranks over the next five years, before the company closed.  I have remained working in the mortgage banking industry for 24 years and love what I do; helping families achieve their American Dream.

I moved throughout Placer and Sacramento counties over the years, but eventually decided to return home to Roseville to raise my two wonderful sons, Charlie, age 13 and Ben, age 7.  My mother, brother, nieces and nephews all call Roseville home, and this is where I wanted my children to have their childhood memories and experiences. I am actively involved in my sons’ school, work with the PTA on many events and fundraisers, volunteer as the first grade art and music docent and have coached my youngest son’s soccer team. I spend a lot of time and resources to helping find a cure for pediatric cancer by working with various organizations; the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Unravel Pediatric Cancer,  St. Baldrick's and the Live Like Soy Foundation.  In addition to being a wife, mother and mortgage professional, one of my best friends and I launched our own business in mid-2017, Soirée Event Design & Planning, which I am immensely proud of and passionate about.

During the past two years, I have watched the political environment in our country, state and local counties change.  I kept saying to my family “I want to do something to make a positive impact in our community” but I didn’t know what that would look like or how to go about it.  It wasn’t until late 2016 that I considered running for public office.  Voter registration and voter participation is extremely important to me, and because of that, I want to serve all the people of Placer County. I want to make a concerted effort to engage the young voters, the senior voters, the minority voters and the under-served communities.  I am also very concerned with ensuring that Placer County elections remain fair, transparent and indisputable, now and moving forward.  Lastly, I want to be a part of preserving the history and story of Placer County and its residents as a diligent and conscientious Clerk-Recorder.
