My Top 3 Priorities

  • I will continue my careful watch on Town's finances and spending
  • I will help our Town finalize a Master Path Plan Map for the first time in almost two decades
  • I will continue to strike a careful balance between home building and maintaining our Town's rural character

Profession:Incumbent/Retired Business Owner

Kenyon College BA, International Studies (1988)

Community Activities

Appointee, North County Library Authority (2014–current)
Los Altos Hills Representative, Santa Clara County Library JPA (2014–current)
Liaison, Los Altos Hills Park and Rec Committee (2016–current)
Trustee, San Francisco Symphony (2010–2016)
Member, Los Altos Hills Pathway Committee (2008–2013)

I have a track record of successes on the City Council. I was Mayor last year and helped collaborate on the return of over $300,000 in taxes paid by our residents that was being unfairly held by the State. This significant sum accentuates the Town's strong, positive financial position. I also instituted Mayor's Office Hours, which was so successful, our current Mayor, Vice Mayor and City Manager have carried on the tradition. I started our Town's beloved Fourth of July Parade and have supported our Town-wide events for years as a volunteer and making Sangria for the Town Picnic with my husband's Los Altos Hills wine!

My husband and I are raising our three sons here and built our own home less than 10 years ago. I have been through the process and want others to find the Town welcoming of their investment here. I am an advocate for homeowner's rights, eliminating ambiguity in government and pride myself of being very responsive to all residents who need my time.  Prior to City Council, I served on the Town's Pathway Committee. I understand the way it works and want to balance the desire to have a robust system with property rights, privacy, safety and costs. It is one of our community's greatest assets and we must maintain it.

Finally, I love our Town and am happy to serve in any way.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I believe local government is where we, as residents, can make real changes in our quality of life. As a City Council member, I pride myself of being quick to respond and make time to try and understand the issues facing our residents. I also strive to be fully prepared for all my meetings and prepared to debate a topic with my fellow Councilmembers. I appreciate that we should not all think and act alike--it is the foundation of democracy. But, I also agree that I represent the residents who live here and must listen and be thoughtful in my approach to any issue that may alter our way of living. And ultimately, the business of the City must be done in a thorough, thoughtful and collaborative way.

Above all, I find most people are fine with a modicum of regulations. It is the ambiguity that we dislike. Therefore, I consider it my highest priority to clarify our guidelines and regulations and simplify them whenever and wherever possible.
