Biography

Mark was born in San Mateo, CA to a family of teachers. Mark’s father was a depression era Dixieland drummer who became a band teacher in San Mateo schools “for life”.

Mark is a husband and father. Residents in the district since 2000, Mark and his wife Caroline have two sons attending school in the Santa Clara Unified School District. Like all of us, Mark does a lot of things with his time, but husband and father are the roles most important to him.

Mark is a Real Estate broker in a family run brokerage in Sunnyvale. Mark has worked hard and helped many local families; clients’ experiences with him can be found under MGM Real Estate on www.yelp.com and www.linkedin.com.

Mark has volunteered with students for over 20 years. His experience includes;

The Foundry School
Volunteer, Mentor
1995-2005

Volunteered twice per week teaching traditional karate to at risk youth. Acted as a mentor for eight years on annual desert retreats; intensive, week long trips to the desert designed to change lives.

The Lowell Slater Richardson Foundation

Named after Mark’s late father, a California teacher, the LSR Foundation awards at risk students grants for continued education. To date the LSR Foundation has awarded over 80 students approximately $100,000.
