Biography

I was born in San Diego and grew up in the SDSU area. I joined the United
States Coast Guard in 1973 signing a six year commitment, and I am a Vietnam
Era veteran.
After my enlistment, I attended Coleman College studying analog and digital electronics.
For the past 36+ years I have worked in the computer industry. I am currently
employed by Oracle Corporation in San Diego where I am a Senior IT Manager.
He manages a team of specialists in three cities across the US that supports
the development of Oracle's latest products,as well as managing a
multi-million dollar budget. I am a partner in what just may be the longest
continually operating restaurant in El Cajon, The Wrangler Family Barbecue
Pit. I worked for one of my current partners, JR, while in high school. I am
an American Legion member, City of El Cajon Veterans' Commission Commissioner,
member of the East County Chamber of Commerce Veterans Round Table. All of
this combined professional and life experience qualifies me to serve the
residents of El Cajon on the City Council. I am hoping to fill the seat being
vacated by Tony Ambrose, the only veteran on the current City Council.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

El Cajon needs strong leadership, ready for the challenges facing our wonderfully diverse community.  Our city must be safe for all, particularly our children.  Our children must be able walk to and from school without fear of crime, abduction, or bullying.  I strongly support our police and fire departments and will work to be sure they have all the resources required to assure our safety.

We must be fiscally responsible.  I’ll keep a close watch on spending, and be sure the budget remains balanced with a surplus. We need to do all that we can to make El Cajon attractive to new business.  As a partner in a business that has been in El Cajon since 1965, I understand the challenges facing our local businesses.

As a veteran I greatly appreciate the contributions of every veteran in our community.  I am a Vietnam Era Veteran having served in the United States Coast Guard for six years, I'm a member of the American Legion post here in El Cajon.  I currently serve on the City of El Cajon Veterans’ Commission.  I am a charter member of the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce Veterans Round Table where I am working diligently to eliminate veteran homelessness from the streets of El Cajon.  I am a Citizen of the Year nominee, and have been recognized for my community work by many elected officials. I ask for your support and your vote.
