Biography

LaShae Collins is a native San Diegan with deep roots in the community. She currently serves as the District Director for a California State Legislator and is a Adjunct Professor at San Diego State University. In her work for the people of California, LaShae works on policy in the areas of Early Education, K-12 Education, and Post-Secondary Education. She is also the eyes and ears of the community for the Legislator, attending community events and meetings and ensuring that the needs of the people are heard. For six years, LaShae has experienced the joys of classroom teaching. Being an educator has contributed to both her personal and professional growth.

LaShae is engaged in the district in both a professional and volunteer capacity. She has served as everything from committee chair to softball coach to help our students. She is from the community and has the experience, passion, and policy knowledge to help make it a better place.

She received her early education from John F. Kennedy Elementary, Gompers Secondary School, and Lincoln High School all located in District E. After graduating high school, LaShae attended San Diego State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts, a Masters of Arts in Education, and is currently working toward a doctorate in Educational Leadership.

LaShae maintains an active professional life, presenting papers, and serving on numerous community boards. LaShae has also been a foster parent; giving foster children the safe, loving, stable environment they need to thrive. She and her husband, Ian and have two children in district schools.
