Sacramento is beginning to come back after the economic downturn. But we still face many challenges. As a long-time Democratic leader in Sacramento, I am committed to helping our city and county officials solve problems like homelessness, mass transit and bicycle-friendly roads, and increased commitment to our neediest neighborhoods. I am the mother of three young children and I want to build a Sacramento that offers them - and every child - the most opportunities for a bright future. We can only do that by coming together as Democratic activists and reaching out to every corner of our county. As chair of our county Democratic Party from 2009-2011, I lead our efforts to increase participation through creating more Democratic clubs across the county so more of Sacramento could participate. I stabilized our finances and helped create a year-round office for activists to use. And we came together to do community service projects like river clean up and building houses. A unified Democratic Party of Sacramento County can do so many things to help build our future. I would be honored for your vote.

Political Philosophy
I believe that the local Democratic Party can play a pivotal role in creating unity in Sacramento. We can do more by coming together and advocating for more responsive local governments, encouraging increased access to information about how our local governments work, expanding the network of people who become involved, and by bringing important issues to your doorsteps. I support our strong neighborhoods and want to continue and extend Sacramento's proud tradition of neighborliness.

Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
After 31 years of working with the media, legislature, and political campaigns I learned the importance of every citizen’s voice, and made it my calling to register and educate voters in the State of California. In 2015 I founded YouthVoters.org a non-profit, non-partisan coalition of concerned Californians from all walks of life who wish to see everyone young and not so young exercise their right to vote. Using that model of internet, written and grassroots communication I then went on to create New California Voters to teach people that non-voters are silenced voters, and reminded them that all voices and opinions matter. We taught participation at the ballot box could have a significant impact on the outcome of many races and initiatives and how California is governed.
