I would be honored to receive your vote as one of seven people elected to the LA County Democratic Party County Central Committee for the 51st Assembly District on June 7, 2016. I am endorsed by the National Women's Political Caucus - LA, and by numerous community and civic leaders who care about our party and our communities.
I am a 15-year resident of Eagle Rock, where my husband and I are raising our 4-year-old and infant daughters. I was a founding board member of the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council, on which I served for five years, because I believe in grass-roots community involvement.
I was one of 19 women in Southern California selected for the 2015 Emerge CA training program for Democratic women leaders and believe we need more women’s voices in government. I serve on the board of the National Women’s Political Caucus LA-Metro chapter. I am a member of the Northeast Democratic Club, Women in Transportation, the Women’s Twentieth Century Club of Eagle Rock, The Eagle Rock Association, the Los Angeles Conservancy, and the American Planning Association, L.A. Chapter.
I’m a nine-year staffer to L.A. City Councilmember José Huizar. In this role, I am in charge of the Bringing Back Broadway revitalization initiative in Downtown L.A., a 10-year plan that includes numerous public policies to encourage economic development, the reactivation of long-vacant commercial buildings and historic theatres, increase pedestrian activity, advance historic preservation, and lead the effort to bring a streetcar system back to Los Angeles.
I am an advocate for reproductive rights, equal human rights and marriage equality. I support small business and revitalization of neighborhoods. I believe in working towards safe, livable communities for all Angelenos, and accessible government, and Democratic Party representation. I support Democratic values, and will work to advance them while representing my community within the party.
