Tami L. Warren is a practicing attorney with over 13 years of combined experience in civil and criminal law. She began her legal career with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office as a certified law clerk.  After passing the Bar the first time, she was a solo practitioner handling civil matters. In 2005, she joined the Public Defender’s Office.

The daughter of Maj. Winnie Warren, United States Air Force (Ret.), Tami’s decision to serve on the court was motivated by her strong sense of duty and respect for others. She is a member and Past President of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, a former Commissioner on the State Bar's Judicial Nominations Evaluations Commission, Member of the Board of Directors for A New Way of Life Re-Entry Project ( and a volunteer with a variety of charitable organizations such as Suits4Suits (a veterans assistance group). For Tami, service to the community is a way of life.  

Tami earned her Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law and her Bachelor’s Degree in Radio and Television from Texas A&M. She loves her two dogs, Not Guilty and TJ Hooker, can be followed on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, and thinks 30 Rock is the greatest show ever written.

Do you favor alternative, non-jail sentences for non-violent offenders and what options should be available?
Answer from Tami L. Warren:

Absolutely.  There are numerous residential as well as out patient programs available to Defendants which are substantially less expensive and  more effective.  Generally, these people are sufferring from homelessness, joblessness, addiction and domestic violence.  Many lack even basic life skills, which is why programs, in certain instances , helps them to become more productive citizens. It helps their families as well.

As an attorney with over 13 years of legal experience, I have the unique background of advocating in criminal and civil law, for both the prosecution and the defense.  I believe, first and foremost, in preserving justice and integrity in the courtroom. That's why I am running for Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge.

The citizens of Los Angeles deserve a Superior Court Judge who understands and appreciates the diversity of the community. I offer a wealth of real life experience, a firm knowledge of the law and an unshakeable belief in the principals of justice and the need for the fair application of our laws.

A vote for me on June 7, 2016 is a vote for all people.
